The bond strength and hardness of this 99.9% pure nickel coating can significantly cut component costs, allowing the use of inexpensive base metals without a loss in electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance or solder bond. It can be deposed on a wide variety of substrates including chilled irons, various steel alloys, stainless steels, aluminum alloys, copper and brass, and may also be used as a base coat to improve the corrosion resistance of chrome plated parts.
Component repair is another strength of sulfamate nickel. The most machinable of the nickel-based products Electro-Coatings supplies, it is often used as a build-up coating for resurfacing of worn parts. Its chemical application process avoids the surface inconsistencies of electroplating, allowing precisely equal deposition of the coating regardless of part geometry.
